Marketplace reports on how government agencies are clashing with southern Texas landowners as efforts to build a border fence continue. More than one hundred hold-out property owners along the border have been ordered to sell by the end of the year or else risk losing their land to eminent domain. Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid director David Hall says not only are longstanding residents unwilling to move, but it's often difficult just to figure out who, exactly, owns the land. Davies' report is lopsided in favor of the landowners, but the issue of the government seizing land by eminent domain still resonates.
